What is the function of the holding limit? Why does it exist and what is the objective it aims to achieve? What is its goal? I found it quite unnecessary and harmful, so I would like to understand what it adds to the game.

Holding currency is for profit in the end of season.. Because Nation will sell the gold for currency.. So the graph will go down.. So you can buy gold with cheap price.. And then.. Buy euro for trading.. Because global fund will sell all euro for reward if CC and CL.. So you can more profit..

Buy gold with currency (cheap)

Buy euro with gold (cheap)

Thats how to play as Expert Trading..

your holding limit is influenced by your teams total wages, if you have a bigger wage expense, the holding limit is higher.

Let me see if I understand this correctly, in a strategy game we are punished for managing resources intelligently, waiting for the best moment to make changes? I think this is conceptually a mistake. It is the merit of those who were there dedicated to the game to get the gold at the best price.

@Tecnocrazy this is made to keep the currency exchange rate stable. If this limit wasn’t there the currency exchange rate would be very very low, so a few people make huge profit of it and all other managers would suffer paying lots of gold on their wages.

I call this adapting to the economy, if the exchange rate gets too low, it creates an opportunity for managers of that league to invest in their teams' infrastructure or in game actions as well. It's all about knowing what is most advantageous at the moment, this is called the free market.

@Tecnocrazy, that would be true if the exchange rate followed the demand and supply. This way, in countries where all the clubs spend less local currency than they earn, the exchange rate would always grow.

In KOB, the funds change back the money and stabilise the exchange rate, the local currency is not burnt nor created. Those things make the system tidier, but also extremely predictable. For example, it's impossible to have gold/local rate >100 in any condition, even if people keep buying gold. Profiting from the exchange rate doesn't require being intelligent and predicting the evolution of the economy. The first one who buys a local currency (exchange rate 100) can't lose money as long as he holds the local currency, since the exchange rate can't go back to 100 if he doesn't sell back. Very easy to exploit... the holding limit is necessary

There are players who do not play the game to run a team.  These players just play or played to manipulate the currencies to make money, which isn't the point of this game.  If you want a large hoard of local currency, then you can gain it buy winning games.
