To what extent is it essential to have a player with a specific role—such as a goalkeeper—on a Youth League team? Is it really that important for achieving good league results, or do the specific positions not matter, with the focus placed solely on Skill Level (AQ)?

Match Engine

The Youth League match engine is streamlined, taking into account:

  • Each team’s average quality.

  • Youth Center level.

  • Whether the team has all 7 players available.

  • Whether the team has at least one player per role (Goalkeeper, Defender, Midfielder, Attacker).

  • Home, away, or neutral ground advantage.

@Thuru

I copied it from the youth league documentation.

  • If a team does not have all 7 players, temporary players are automatically assigned to cover missing positions for that match.
