Update to Tournaments 28/10/2024

Just a quick update that didn't make it to yesterdays patch in time.

• Tournament injuries are now automatically healed when the tournament ends.
• Tournament earnings are now taxed by the local federation by 15%

The percentage is high, meaning that most teams will lose in the tournament. If it was 5%, it would be acceptable

@nicmo  15% is too much. I might suggest turning this tax into a capital gains tax. (If you pay 5 gold to sign up and win 6 gold overall, 15% would be deducted from 1 gold)

You realize that these 15% go to your local federation, that later will be used to pay your league and cup prizes, right? The more you win the richest your league becomes.

Strange paradox this is, people want better prizes but don't want to contribute to the funds that pay them.

it's the worst idea ever taxing the tournament income, because you don't have the security to have the fee back at 100%, so why i have to tax it too? no sense

so why tax champions league and continental cup earnings too? ban taxes!

we don't pay to enter in CL and CC

otherwise, fund every tournament with 50 gold, in this case the tax has to be present.

imagine spending 5 gold, you don't know if you recover the fee, and plus you have to pay 15% tax

anyway, i am not usual to do tournament so personally i don't mind. but this is a big mistake the taxes in tournament

The best decision is to tax on profits only, for example, if you paid 5 gold to participate and won 6, the tax would be on 1 gold and not the full 6.

Relax guys, it's just a game... There were injuries and sometimes bars to pay before, now we got rid of that and we have a tax, it will probably cost less. Plus, it goes straight to the local federation, then it feeds the prizes...

Those who have an unlucky day and win just a few games also pay few taxes... extra funding will often cover it

Also, tournaments are not mandatory, you can look for those with extra fundings covering the expenses

So nicmo, you pretend like problem didn't exists? You didn't make it on yesterday - fine, you didn't have to. But you make it to put that info about NO INJURY, and then ppl got injured players. So you gonna fix it somehow? Don't do i to for me, but fix it for others. The can't train their players. They can't participate in new tournaments or they have to put weaker team so it's not worth to do it.

it's simple, the match you need to win before minus 15% now

so for example, if u needed to win 9 matches before, now 10 matches and half

approximately you need to finish at least 3rd to take something, otherwise you go in negative

10 matches out of 15, and consider a tie as 1/2 match won

after 10 matches won you are in positive, less you are in negative

the difference is not too high, but imagine having tax while you struggle to stay at least in positive

in facts now major part of players don't want to do anymore tournaments (unless it's funded)

and personally i prefer one thousand times now doing a friendly rather than tournament for the training multiplier

Even without extra funding, with 9 wins out of 15 you recover the entry fee.
For a 10 gold tournament, 9 wins would give 12 gold without taxes, 10.2 gold after taxes.

Similarly, for a 9 games tournament, with 5 wins and a tie you earn 10.39 gold after taxes

And there is often extra funding... it's not changing much

Plus, you don't have to pay to cancel injuries anymore

The tax on tournaments is caused by the elimination of the goods market.

Personally, I don't agree with this update. Why?

1. Even without tax are very difficult to get the money back in tournament. Especially with 15% tax. You can try it yourself @Chazuke_e. For me, after this update, i will not join in the tournament unless, there is a bonus or I want try a new formation.

2. If there is a tax on tournaments then it shouldn't be that big. I believe 5% is a sufficient number as a substitute for eliminating injuries in tournaments.

3. As far as I remember, someone gave the idea regarding removing energy bars and pro bars in the goods market, not the goods market as a whole. I'm neutral on this idea.

4. The goods market is very necessary, especially to regulate team energy, especially for teams that compete not only in the league but also in the cup and champions. I'm sure the amount of gold from selling Batorade is greater than the 15% tax on the tournament.

So in my view, reduce the tournament tax to 5%. Return the goods market but without the energy bar and pro bar

It is not balanced.

I would participate in tournaments only if the experience of the plyers would increase. All my players are now under 40% experience.

@Juni why should I „try“ it myself when I used to join back then and almost never got anything back because of bigger players? They dominate it, so idrc about tournaments, haha

sure, the 14 regular tournaments we had today are all bots, in your head.

Most of the teams that usually participate in the tournaments were not able to participate in off-seasson masters. This is a great injustice. It would have been more appropriate to give them priority

Well, not everyone have to end on positive at end of tournament :D , only the first places do, which is normal , otherwise, could be called charity funds :D

The players who were harmed and caused the percentage deduction to cause them greater losses, and despite that, they continued to play the tournaments. Most of them did not find a place in off-season masters.

It would have been more appropriate for these people to play in the tournament because they are the ones who deserve it
