Hello. I have a question about young players. I understood that if they didn't make it to the first team BEFORE turning 18, they would retire.
But I've seen other coaches' players turn 18 and have a warning that they plan to retire if they don't make it to the first team.
So, can I keep them in the youth team training with coaches until BEFORE they turn 19?
I mean, once they're 18 and that warning comes out, can I still promote them?

Just be safe and promote youth on huis age 17 year

no reason to wait on 18y. Let just play your youth in friendlies if they get 17y.

if you have to short players for friendly, pick Some amateur. This almost cost nothing and shall not be a problem. Friendlies always good for training your reserve players

The reason it is that if I dont need the player this season I can mantain him in with the tutor and gain a bonus to his training 1 more season.

I lost a year, but I get a better player with 18-19 years, so for me its important

@FirstWave if the player is 18 years old, he will retire when the current season ends ( Usually 28th of every month)

You cannot wait or keep him until player turn 19.

The thinh its that I though that I had to promotr the player before turno 18 to avoid loss him

Just as I Saïd. Promote it when its 17y and let play those youth in friendlies. Problem solved.

also,if you have to less players for friendly, just take up to 3 amateur

other good thing is that you can use tutor for your 15 and 16 age youth players
