I am excited to announce the introduction of the Elo ranking system into our game. This system, commonly used in competitive environments, estimates the relative strength of teams and evolves dynamically based on match results.

Key Details:

• Initial Elo Ratings: All teams started this season with an Elo rating calculated from their starting 11 average quality (AVQ).
• Dynamic Adjustments: After each match, Elo ratings are updated based on the relative strengths of both teams and the match result:
  • A stronger team winning results in a smaller point gain.
  • An underdog winning results in a larger point gain for the weaker team.
  • Draws also adjust ratings, rewarding the weaker team more if they manage to hold the stronger team.
• Current Elo Ratings: As of now, the Elo ratings reflect the performance of all teams across matches played this season, from here they will continue to evolve with every oficial match played.
• On every match report you can see the Elo rating for each team at the start of the match and the amount of Elo change after that match was done.
• There is a new ranking under the Rankings menu for this Elo Ranking.

Future Use:
The Elo ranking system will play a crucial role in determining seedings for major competitions like the Champions League and Continental Cup. This ensures that the strongest teams, as determined by their Elo ratings, are appropriately seeded in groups to create balanced and fair competition.

So...we want to avoid draws like group 3 group 5 in CL no? If this is the result this is a good update.

You cannot have a 3 team top tier in the same group

That is one of the ideas yes Ralf, the teams are put in pots and drawn one by one based on their Elo, i already did some simulations and it works but as in real life its not perfect when one of the most important rules is, no teams from the same country in the same group.

But looks much better than what we have today and has some logic to it, right now group seeding its purely random.

Also this ranking allows us to have another perspective on teams strength and be able to calculate expected goals, odds, etc.

I like the idea. Where can we see our ELO rating or the rival ELO?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Could you use ELO for National Cups too??? This latest update makes KOB grow more and more in the panorama of online football management games. Nicmo, maybe it would be useful to spend some money on advertising to make KOB known and attract many people. We need to get to 10,000 users .-). To date there is no online game like KoB, most of them are all pay to win, instead KoB has its own logic and managerial complexity that is very engaging. Thanks for everything.
