Big update today with a brand new competition, improvements to national team matches, and some quality-of-life changes across the board.
🌍 World Cup
The World Cup is here! A new global competition featuring the top 32 national teams ranked by ELO.
Runs every 2 months (even number months), with the draw happening during the off-season.
Teams are seeded into 4 pots of 8 and drawn into 8 groups of 4.
Group stage (3 matches) → 1/8 Finals → Quarter-finals → Semi-finals → 3rd Place Match → Final.
Prize pool is funded by 2.5% of each zone's Global Fund, every season, pooled together globally.
You can follow everything from the new World Cup page under the Competitions menu.
🗳️ National Team Manager Elections
A new election system for national team managers has been added to the Federation page.
Elections are held on the 1st of every odd month, with a registration and voting window of 15 days.
Any manager whose club is in the same country can register as a candidate and write a short statement. Only 1 candidacy is allowed, so if you have 2 clubs, pick the country you want.
Managers from that country can vote for their preferred candidate during the election window.
The winner is appointed as national team manager for the term. He will be able to manage the team during friendlies and during the upcoming World Cup if their country qualifies.
🎙️ National Matches Upgrades
National team matches now also have live play-by-play commentary instead of raw text.
National caps are now tracked for all players who participate in a national match.
Referees are now assigned to national team matches, both friendlies and World Cup fixtures.
⚽ Youth League Restructure
The Youth League format has been reworked:
Now 4 groups of 8 teams (was 8 groups of 4), playing a full 14-round double round-robin.
Only the top 1 team per group qualifies for knockouts (was top 2).
Knockout stages simplified to Semi-finals → Final.
Prize distribution adjusted: 50% for group match wins, 50% for knockout stages.
🔄 Club Swap — Keep Your Infrastructure
When swapping clubs during the off-season, you now have the option to keep your current facilities (stadium, training ground, youth center, medical center, dress room) for an additional fee.
The fee is based on your current facility levels + 20% surcharge.
Infrastructure fee is split between the Partners Fund (30%), Global Fund (35%), and Federation (35%).
🏷️ Request Bot Player Auction
You can now request an auction for players on bot-managed teams.
Available for bot team players with 65+ average quality
Costs 50% of the player's value in Gold, which becomes your opening bid.
The player enters a 48-hour auction open to all managers.
That's it for today's update! The World Cup is the big one, looking forward to seeing which nations rise to the top. This season (even number month) we will run a test World Cup without managers, next month elections start.
