My thoughts too, where will the prize come from when the already international competitions reward have dropped greatly:) 

Yeah, finding a budget for World Cup prizes would bring down the prizes of other competitions.
But even with more funds, it still doesn't look feasible because of the time zones. For any server time you choose for the matches, there will always be a nation with the World Cup match very close to National Cup or National League matches (if not even contemporary)

Do you guys have secret energy generator spell? More competitions!! When I can't train some players for week. League, national cup and international fixture is already a challenge for managers that have active match in all the competitions all through the season:) 

Maybe it could be play on preseason, first day of preseason group phase, second day 1/8 and 1/4, and third day 1/2 and the final.

But yes, I agree, without rewards, just the tittle.
