Updates and Tweaks 05/12/24

Hello, 2 changes done in this update;

• Managers can now upgrade their coaches by sending them to the training school, upgrading 1 rating star each time and taking 3 days each. The cost of each upgrade is the diference between the cost of the current level and the level above +10%. So upgrading from rating 1 to 5 will cost 10% more than hiring a 5 rating coach directly.
• Its now possible to boost your team morale by issuing a press release that boasts your players! From  the Office menu there is a new Press sub-menu where you can issue these, the cost is paid to your local federation. Each press release will increase your team morale by 5% and can only be issued once a week. They will be written for you in the language you want so no need to worry about it. In the future there will be other types of press releases with different effects.

the update on the coaches is fine. The one on the team morale is not realistic. Instead of making these updates to please the people who complain on Discord because they lose games, why don't you make an update that with the advancing age of the players lose their skills like in reality. making the game more and more realistic and engaging, giving life to the transfer market that is off.

This new press release feature is, in my opinion, a big step backward for two reasons: firstly, it is not realistic. How could a press release be more effective than winning two matches? It doesn't make much sense.

Secondly, while it might bring a handful of gold to the federation, it could be harmful to the competition because it provides a way to buy something that should instead be earned on the field in real football.

The coaches update should instead be positive. Will they be able to work while they are learning for 3 days?

I thought the item market was erased because it was pay-to-win? The press release thing is nothing short of that.

The coach upgrade feature is really cool though imo.

The coaching school is a very good idea, congratulations on listening to the community.

What would be the advantage of upgrading coaches rather than buying a new one more skilled?

for example If you have a level 3stars coache, it is best to send him to a training school and increase his stars. If you buy another one, you lose the gold from the buy 3stars coache.

Great update for the coaches upgrade, for the press release I'm not convinced but it must also be said that if a team has low morale and invests in the market and brings itself to the average of the others despite this it cannot get out of it because of this. I have a suggestion for the missed weekly payment, you could add a function for the payment of the due with an increase of 10% or more so for those who could not or for the distracted can solve with a gain for the federation.

The change about coach is awesome but the one with press, please, make it costs at least 100 gold or more, today price is insignificant. Someone who managed to make a good start, got an advance for which he worked but sadly, for only 2 gold it can be erased. On the other hand, i think this press is not that bad if prices raised significant, right now, main factor for a team at start is only on which stadium come the first strong games, if its at home, odds to win are higher and so comes the advantage.

It's not about the cost of the press release; it's about the game's status compared to the other football manager games.

I've played lots of football manager games, online and offline, and I have to say that this one has some interesting features, especially regarding the match engine. Still, initially, I thought it was a bit ridiculous because you could just buy the solution for every issue. Injured player? Pay and he is healed. Banned player? Pay and he can play...
Basically, it was not much about management but rather about clicking and paying, no brain required XD
I used to say that even a monkey could have played it.

Now it's definitely more engaging because it is more realistic and you can't just pay for everything. But this update brings back a bit of that bad "pay to solve problem" taste, I really hope that the morale bonus from press releases will be cancelled (maybe keeping the feature without effects with a lower price as for match reports?)

The feature itself is nice, but how a press release is supposed to let the players forget their bad games? It's 20 points per season!! Just pay and you can cancel the effect of a shitty season and your dumb players will be happy as if they were winning everything, and smile while the supporters insult them XD

KOB is becoming a nice and respectable football manager game, please don't bring it back to its origins. There are things in football that you can't just buy, keep it real. If team morale is considered too influential, the percentage of the penalty could still be reduced

Coach upgrades are good (last season i fired 3 four star coaches and hired 5 stars instead)

Press release is a bit strange, i would remove it, but if we keep it we should increase the price. 2 gold is nothing

Hey, I find it odd, reading here that press conferences dont affect team morale in real life and are unrealistic. I think they have a great impact in real life, managers often use them for that effect before and after the matches to influence the team, to protect them after a loss, etc. The diference that you can argue is that here, they always have a positive effect while in real life they can backfire causing harm instead.

maridiba you compared to other games, well in FM (the leading game of the genre), for years, there's before and after match press conferences and they do influence the morale of your players. So i find your comparison odd too.

I also think it makes much more sense than the item "Player Kits" we had before that gave 20% morale. No one really complained about them back then.

I understand the teams in higher positions of the league don't see it but those teams in the bottom of the table have very low team morale and its kind of a spiral of doom, once you lose your first matches and the others win, you are in a big disadvantage until the end of the season playing 70% morale team versus a 100%. Maybe it would be a good idea that the press conference effect was gradual, depending on your team's current morale.

Also, I don't think its really about the price, the price is there as an excuse to add some funds to the federations, its much more about the timing management of when to use this feature or delay it.

Well...i can understand both maribida and nicmo point of view. But for sure 2 gold is very low. maybe not 300 gold. but put people to pay something more in they want 5 morale to be gain by a press release.

Yeah, press releases can have an impact but it's not always positive and it's basically related to the next game not lasting for the whole season. Sometimes they even affect more the opponent than the team itself

In some football manager games, you can have a temporary boost for the next game, just like in FM and hattrick. It could be a boost just for one game, and disappear after that, but as it is now, it completely wipes the effect of the previous games.

If it was temporary, let's say just for 1 game every week, it would also become crucial to decide when to use it. More decisions to take..

What I would love is the press conference to work like a shout where people can engage with it.

These can easily sit under the past games / future games in the division tab.

On the pay to win / keep it real theme? Those federations won t fund themselves... And I think is necessary to have some things like this as long the advantage is not significant.

@nicmo can I get refund? I don't know why the coach upgrade confirmation box only work once for me. That isn't appear when I click for the second time and start upgrading my coach xD

the teams from bottom part of the table are drowning from match to match and they dont have chance to fix their morale. and even more - they are losing more and more. there should be a chance for such teams to compete to the end without wasted morale, right?

being a managerial game like in reality nobody gives you anything. the only thing to be able to win is knowing how to invest if then one invests badly or does not want to invest and has low morale must invent something to improve it, without unrealistic Santa Claus gifts. Then if we want to go back to a Pay to win just say so. We must decide what we want to build a realistic game or not. My humble opinion.

Verry true, some players are investing thousands of euros but we make changes to help the ones that are not investing anything. The game is verry unstable, lots of changes before and during seasons, this will hurt the overall trust in the game... Also my humble opinion :)

in fact that's exactly what I say ... this is a management game where you invest real money and many people including me have invested a lot of money, we are not stupid. You should not give gifts to anyone. If someone wants to win they have to invest  , or then he has to be satisfied with the little he has invested.

I'm solidarity with your points about investing, obviously who pays to get a super team should have a better PROBABILITY of winning, but that shouldn't mean that you always win (against weaker teams) no matter what, now, that is in fact a unrealistic scenario.

Even tho i don't agree with the moral change (I would have caped the moral at -5 e.g. and reduced the home bonus), but I get that it will bring more gold to the federation.

Moral was broke. If a middle/bottom team had the bad luck to play against the top teams at the beginning of the season, when they played against teams of same value, they would be in a big, unrealistic and unfair morale scenario, making a recover impossible.

Also, the top teams never lose/tie with middle/bottom teams, that is also unrealistic (City just tied with Crystal Palace), so let's see how things go and see how many points you guys lose because of the change in moral...

my dearest FRIEND @MISERICORDIA . If you want to win you have to invest money to buy or create players who are up to the task. This is not pay to win ... instead buying morale is pay to win. You have to earn moral on the field, instead of always going to cry to Nicmo to have benefits in your favor that you do not want to invest and would like to earn from the game without investing. I love you brother you always answer against me it is clear that you are a great manager. :-) :-) :-)

@Iordache, that makes sense, but if you raise the price to match the value that the feature could have for League A in Italy and Romania, all the other users will not use it.

I've seen price proposals based on the division, but again, a price could be considered suitable for League A in one country but be even higher than the Championship prize in another. To make it fairly available to everyone, the best solution could be to make it proportional to players' salaries in gold; this way, it will automatically match the cash flow of each club.

Maybe it could be seen as a bonus to the players (and even renamed? Press release could be a separate independent feature without effect since the English version is very nice)

I appreciate your idea, but I think small teams should pay more for the press release, as they need it much more to boost their morale. 😅 However, let’s not forget that big teams can lose too (pretty normal, right?), and sometimes, even they end up with low morale. So, to keep things fair, the price should be the same for everyone. Otherwise, we risk turning the game into a "league of big winners" and leaving the small teams in the stands... watching the big teams enjoy their moral victories. But hey,  I don't decide ...😎 I’m just giving feedback! 😄
