Season 27 & Kickoff Arena

Welcome to Season 27! First of all, I hope you all get better results than last season 😄

Aside from a few little tweaks here and there, there's no big KOB update this time, the focus has been on getting Kickoff Arena into a playable state, and it's getting there. Here's the rundown 👇

🌍 Continental Spots

• The new countries added last season now join the fight for continental spots, their results this season count toward Champions League and Continental Cup places for next season.
• I plan to introduce qualification playoffs for the continental competitions starting next season, so there will probably be more spots available soon.

🕹️ Kickoff Arena

Remember, this is a 3D FIFA/PES-like game that runs in your browser, with the simulation running server-side to prevent cheating, so it's a bit quirky, but I think it can be really fun.

• The Arena link in the left menu shows on desktop only, phones aren't really supported for now.
• We now have two servers, Americas and Europe, and soon we'll have an Asian one too.
• You can use a Bluetooth/USB controller, just like on PS5/Xbox.
• You can watch live matches as a spectator, or replay past matches.

How to try it:

1. Go to https://kickoffboss.com/arena.php
2. Click "Look for match" and keep the page open, it pairs you with the next manager in the queue.
3. When a match is found, open your invite and ready up (you have 5 minutes).
4. Matches are two 3-minute halves, played with your actual selected team and players.

⌨️ Keyboard controls (you can change these in-game):

Move: WASD or arrow keys, Shift to sprint
X: pass / press when defending
Space: shoot
Q: through ball · E: cross
C: switch player · V: tackle · F: body feint

🏆 Arena Ranked — Season 27 Prizes

The Arena already has a ranked system, and to get things going, the top 5 at the end of Season 27 will win prizes, sponsored by me:

• 🥇 1st — 20 Platinum
• 🥈 2nd — 15 Platinum
• 🥉 3rd — 10 Platinum
• 4th — 5 Platinum
• 5th — 1 Platinum

I want to tweak the ranked system before Season 28, and then we'll increase these rewards.

Just wanted to say that the Kickoff Arena is a really nice feature for the game. It gives us a great experience, just like you mentioned with FIFA/PES.

One thing I really think could be huge in the future is having something similar to Pro Clubs in KOB, where we control our own player and play together as a team. I think that would be an amazing addition to KOB.

An unlucky draw in the pre-group stage playoffs can have a negative financial impact on many clubs, couldn't the groups be expanded to five teams, while still having two qualify from each?

Where the money for arena came from?? Same plat we looking for to increase cl, cc or local competition thrown into arena still on test version and unplayable for the most? But okay, it's everyone money that goes into arena that benefits lucky few who has fast speed Internet and fast pc 😄

@nicmo, don't get offended, but I think that this arena thing has nothing to do with KOB and I would have rather spent time and resources to improve KOB (which has lot to improve, imo, beginning from the "hide result feature" not yet implemented and especially the tactic section, really basic) instead wasting resources to do what? to play soccer games with a very basic product when on the market you have Fifa, and others?

Can players get injured in arena matches?
Does it affect their condition or boost their next training?

I actually like these kinds of games, like Kickoff Arena, but the game looks like it's from 1995. I think that, just like me, a lot of people aren't interested in playing something with such low “quality.

It shows that the resources being used for Arena should, in my opinion, be redirected to Kickoffboss.
